Infrastructure for distributed knowledge management and integration

One of the basic goals of the AKT project is to provide an integrated set of tools for managing knowledge in the context of the semantic web.

As a first step towards this goal, we are defining a low-level knowledge exchange architecture - the AKT-bus - upon which we intend to build higher-level services and applications.

The initial version of the AKT-bus is described in the following document:

The White Paper focuses upon the communication infrastructure, and does not specify any particular content formats. As an example of the latter, we have defined a Constraint Interchange Format, drawing on work done in the KRAFT project.
