Memories for Life

Introduction
Memories for Life is a
Grand Challenge for Computing Science
proposed by the
UK Computing Research Committee. We take it as given
that individuals will be storing an enormous amount of information about themselves on their
computers (documents, images, web browsing logs, etc). The challenge for computing researchers
is to develop
ideas and techniques that help people get the maximum benefit from theie memories,
while at the same time giving them complete control over memories so as
to preserve their privacy.
Memories for Life is also regarded as a Grand Challenge by the UK Foresight
Cognitive Systems project.
This web page is essentially just a set of pointers to material on Memories for Life,
which I have set up because of inquiries from media and others. Apologies in advance for the basic text-only design.
