My research focuses on how distributed and intelligent systems technologies can be brought together to deliver new tools and services for users. I am interested in how aspects of autonomous software agents, the grid and cloud computing can be enhanced through the introduction of semantics and reasoning capabilities, including learning.
I also have a long-standing interest in computational methods for scientific discovery; recently this has led to a number of activities as part of the UK eScience programme, in collaboration with social scientists.
